One of the tourist attractions
which Dapitan is really proud of is its 3 hectare
commercial center,Gloria
de Dapitan, which lies in the heart of Sunset Boulevard where
most of the hotels and inns are located. Aside from Rizal Shrine, the historical landmark,
and Dakak, a world-class Park and Beach Resort, Gloria De Dapitan housed a wide variety of
establishments including the first theme park in the south of the Philippines, Gloria Fantasyland, comparable to
Enchanted Kingdom and Disneyland.
In the middle of Gloria
de Dapitan is the
Gallera de Dapitan, a deluxe cockpit which is sometimes used for boxing
matches, live shows, competitions and other entertainments that draw crowds.
The Gallera de Dapitan is designed by Fernando Mirasol. A bowling center named
Exodus Bowledrome is available inside Gloria de Dapitan. It
is the first of its kind in northwestern Mindanao comparable to bowling lanes
in Manila, Cebu and Cagayan
de Oro. It has 8 lanes and setting of pins is computer-aided. Those who want to
trim down their weight or just want to stay healthy, Powerhouse Gym is also
available. It is by far the biggest gym in Zamboanga peninsula. One can enjoy
boxing, aerobics, taebo, and belly dancing too. Gym instructors are available
who can assist and suggest programs for you to follow.
